Hello I bought a brand new ASUS TUF series laptop and I’ve had it for around 2 weeks and suddenly I’ve experienced a random black screen when I was playing a game and I could turn it back on but the computer was still running and I was in game all thought I cannot see it.
So I figured it out that when ever the charger is plugged in and I have 165hz on the screen is black if I switch to 60hz while still plugged the screen turns on. I don’t have the issue when I unplug the charged and switch in 165hz or 60hz.
When I plug it and set to 165hz and restart the laptop I see the ASUS theme popping at the begging but right about when is fully booted up the screen goes black again and it starts flickering for a bit and then stops. Also if I am on 60hz while plugged and start a game the screen goes black again !
I have tried connecting it to external monitor while my screen is black and I can see everything but only on the external one.
I’ve updated all my drivers possible and everything is with the latest drives al tho it had them set up before that I keep my computer aways up to date with everything so the drivers should not be mentioned.
I am frustrated because that’s my second ASUS laptop that has problems with the screen my last one was from the ASUS Strix G17 series and I experienced a screen matrix burndown when I was chilling and watching live stream, but for my luck it was still under warranty (the laptop was 1year and 6 months old again brand new NOT second hand) so they covered the change of the lcd matrix and after that I sold it because I didn’t wanted to experience the same problems and bought this one.
Is there anything I can try fixing myself or should just give it to the authorised service !
