I've smelled plenty of pungent smells opening electronics boxes, some of which I guess could be described as spicy. It's because everything is assembled and closed up relatively quickly even though it would take weeks for everything to off-gas naturally. Some of it is the electronics and some is the printed manual, usually. Are you concerned that something is wrong?
