Hello,

I bought a new monitor TUF Gaming VG249QM1A but when i connect it to my Asus GTX 1070 and start the pc the MB beeps 1 long 3 shorts when the Q-code LED shows d6 and the onboard led stops on the white LED VGA.
Q-code d6=No Console Output Devices are found.

The pc will boot up and the LED shows 9E but the VGA led stays on white.

I tested everyting, DP cable is connected i reseated the video card no hardware problem with the video card.

I looked on the internet and i found that i have to enable CSM in the bios and this worked.

What i want to know is why do i get this problem with this monitor the GTX 1070 must handel this monitor and can this be fixed with a bios update?

This problem is a boot problem, happens on cold boot but why?

Monitor with DisplayPort v 1.2
Asus GTX 1070 with Displayport v 1.4

DisplayPort 1.2 offers a maximum total bandwidth of 21.6 Gbps over its four lanes and a maximum total data rate of 17.28 Gbps. In comparison, DisplayPort 1.4 has the same four-lane structure but expands the maximum total bandwidth to 32.40 Gbps, and the maximum total data rate to 25.92 Gbps.

Will test this problem with CSM disabled and set the monitor to 144Hz.
Because i think the 240Hz is causing this problem.

I flashed the bios to v 4602 and i didnt see the problem anymore.

Hello,

Can some1 from Asus look into this problem.

I never had any problem with my old monitor connected to my Asus GTX 1070.

I bought a new Video card the Intel Arc A770 and i also get a problem with my video card, i now get:

The vga card is not supported by uefi driver. its a random problem.

When i get this problem the bios enables CSM, but CSM has to be disabled when rezisablebar is set to ON.

All problems started with my new monitor TUF Gaming VG249QM1A connected to the Asus GTX 1070 and now with the INtel Arc A770.

Maybe a bios update is needed for this monitor.

Hello Erwin05,

Depending on the game, Resizable bar can help or hurt performance.

What I'd try is....

Enter the bios, hit F5 to reset to defaults, turn off Resizable bar.

Hit F10 and Enter to save and exit.

Does this get you booting to windows?

Resizable bar isnt my problem.

My problem is in the 1st post with a Asus GTX 1070.

And now with the Intel Arc A770 i get The vga card is not supported by uefi driver. its a random problem.

Problems did start when i bought this Asus monitor.

Ok,

Try with your ASUS GTX 1070, boot up and enter the bios, reset to defaults (F5 key).  It should work with CSM enabled or disabled, although I prefer to disable CSM.

If you get the same screen as in your screenshot, hit F2 to continue.

What happens after hitting F2?

The bios settings arent the problem.

I will explane what happend.

I own a Asus Rog Strix X570-E Gaming Motherbord with a Asus GTX 1070 and a IIyama monitor i didnt have any problem booting.

Last year i bought the Asus TUF Gaming VG249QM1A and i got booting problem like in the 1st post explaned.

The bios to default doesnt fix this booting problem no bios setting does fix it. The problem is comming from the monitor.

i just bought a new video card the Intel Arc A770 16GB and also get booting problem with the same monitor.

The vga card is not supported by uefi driver. its a random problem.

maybe those 2 problems are unrelated.
On the intel forum i was ready a similar problem.

These are my problems.

Have you downloaded and installed the driver package for your monitor?

You'll need to hit F2 to see if you can boot to the desktop to download the driver.

In the link below select your operating system, you'll see the driver package listed.

Yes i have installed the ICC profile.

But this problem is a boot problem happens before windows loads.

Asus GTX 1070 and start the pc the MB beeps 1 long 3 shorts when the Q-code LED shows d6 and the onboard led stops on the white LED VGA.
Q-code d6=No Console Output Devices are found.

The pc will boot up and the LED shows 9E but the VGA led stays on white. This only happens with the new Asus monitor.

Ok,

Something to try....

In the bios on the Boot tab, if Secure Boot is set to Other Os, try setting Secure Boot to Windows UEFI Mode.

I did set Secure boot to windows UEFI mode with the Intel  A770 but stil no fix.

The Asus GTX 1070 is now installed in my older pc so i cant test it anymore.

No 1 responded to my post at that time.

On the Intel forum there is some1 with a similar problem so maybe this problem has to be fixed by Intel.

Person has a similar pc setup, amd processor Asus TUF X570 and a Asus monitor.

I reported this problem to Intel also.
