First Flickering then stuck at 23-24HZ! Help!

Hello,

I have the Asus rog swift gaming monitor with a gtx 690, I currently connected them with a display port to mini display port cable.

Everything used to work great in the beginning at 144 HZ with gsync enabled but then it started slowly degrading....First some flickers then more flickers, then it totally stopped working. After some restarts, plugs-replugs of the cable etc it finally worked however it is maxed at 23-24hz and doesn't go beyond...

Any idea what could be the problem?

An update to the above! after a restart and another re-plug more options appeared. Problem is when I select more than 23-24 hz flickering starts...

... got a message from nvidia experience... installed new drivers and problem got solved....i guess the drivers they released last week were corrupted... hopefully flickering will not appear again.
