Asus MG279Q ROG Dominator with Nvidia

Hello, this might seem an odd question but...

Can the 'Asus MG279Q ROG Dominator 27' be used with Nvidia cards as a normal monitor? I understand FreeSync is not comp with Nvidia (That`s Gsync) but I just want a good IPS monitor WITHOUT Gsync, my thinking was if I used this monitor with Nvidia cards it would just be an IPS monitor?

Is there a good IPS monitor without Gsync? I feel it`s overrated 😕

An Nvidia card will work fine with the MG279Q as a straight 144Hz IPS Monitor. You just won't be able to use FreeSync. If you are looking for that high a refresh with IPS then there are not many choices that I know of. I think Benq has a monitor without FreeSync/G-Sync that is IPS and has a high refresh rate. Look around, and best of luck.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I will test the monitor out, I really don`t think Gsync is all that good tbh, I think it`s overrated as of now (I have tried two ROG Swifts). All I want is a nice IPS monitor, hopefully this will be that monitor.

Thanks again.
