When choosing a keyboard, size is often the first decision that shapes the rest of the experience. The new ROG Azoth 96 HE finds a middle ground between saving space and providing full functionality.

But what truly sets the Azoth 96 HE apart isn’t just its 96% form factor. It’s how three ROG core technologies: Hall Effect sensing, OLED control, and premium chassis engineering come together to redefine what precision and comfort can feel like. And that combination not only improves usability but changes how you interact with your keyboard, leading us to the Azoth 96 HE’s most distinctive element: its intuitive OLED control system.

Command at a Glance

The 1.47-inch AMOLED display and three-way control knob form the Azoth 96 HE’s central command hub, merging real-time feedback with effortless control.

Unlike before, this screen now goes beyond simple lighting or media management. It visually supports Hall Effect adjustments such as actuation point tuning and Rapid Trigger sensitivity. These were previously indicated through LEDs, but the new interface gives users direct visual clarity and control, making configuration even faster, cleaner, and more intuitive.

If you want even finer control such as actuation point and Rapid Trigger sensitivity down to the 0.01mm and custom lighting effects, for example, the new Azoth 96 HE is supports hassle-free customization on Gear Link. Simply use a browser while connected to the internet to access the settings UI.

These additions aren't just about convenience, but empowering users to personalize performance in ways that feel natural. And that philosophy extends beyond software, reflecting throughout the Azoth 96 HE’s refined hardware design.

More than just good looks

Every detail of the ROG Azoth 96 HE was refined with purpose, starting from the outside in. The newly designed top cover extends downward to wrap around the bottom case, creating a sleek and unified appearance that alters the entire aesthetic of the keyboard. This design not only gives the board a premium, cohesive silhouette, but further improves durability and rigidity.

Beneath this refined exterior lies ROG’s latest iteration of analog keyboard engineering. A six-layer dampening system of PORON®, IXPE, and silicone pads ensures every press sounds and feels stable, quiet, and smooth.

The two removable layers allow users to fine-tune typing feedback directly on its gasket performance, from softer, cushioned keystrokes to a firmer, more responsive feel. Together, these elements create an experience that bridges performance with acoustic satisfaction.

But sound is nothing without the right switches to complete the holistic typing experience. At the heart of this pursuit is the ROG HFX v2 magnetic switch, the latest generation of ROG’s Hall Effect technology. It delivers a shorter 3.5 mm total travel distance and 0.01 mm actuation precision, responding faster with less effort for smoother control and reduced fatigue.

ROG HFX v2 switches

Yet the Azoth 96 HE still carries the DNA of the original Azoth — built for customization. With its hot-swappable Hall Effect sockets, users can easily swap between compatible magnetic switches - the ROG HFX v2 or the TTC Golden Magnetic Switch for a slightly different feel and acoustics. This flexibility lets users tailor the Azoth 96 HE to their preferred switch characteristics. The difference in mechanical design of the switches gives them each their own feel and acoustic signature. While the HFX V2 bottoms out with the middle of the stem, TTC elected to have the magnet holder make contact with the bottom casing instead. The two-piece stem design in the HFX V2 allows each half (top and bottom) to align with the center of the top casing and bottom casing independently. On the other hand, TTC opted for a one-piece stem for simplicity and a solid bottom-out feedback.

When these refinements come together — the unified chassis, the adjustable gasket mount design with multi-layered dampening, and the next-gen Hall Effect platform, the result is unmistakable. Every press feels deliberate, every release instant, and every sound refined. It’s the signature Azoth experience evolved.

* Helpful Tip - Remember to run the calibration tool in Gear Link if you decide to test out different switches.

Precision Meets Purpose

The Azoth 96 HE isn’t just about adding old features but refining how they work together. The larger form-factor for instant access to more keys with upgraded dampening, its HFX v2 switches offer magnetic precision you can feel, and its OLED screen puts tuning and control right at your fingertips.

Together, these elements create a keyboard that adapts to the user, whether for competitive gaming, content creation, or everyday typing. It represents ROG’s matured vision for performance peripherals: one that values customization, tactility, and craftsmanship in equal measure.

The 96% form factor is perfect for those who want a compact layout for gaming or a clean, minimalistic setup, but still prefer the familiarity and convenience of a fuller layout. Experience perfected analog control, where every millimeter, every press, and every movement is designed around YOU.
