Combine multiple functions to a single key using the hall effect from magnetic switches, simulating macros mapped into a full keystroke. Take advantage of your analog ROG Falchion HFX keyboard, from adding separate functions to multi-tap outputs, the applications are practically endless!

*Setting DKS will override the particular key's actuation point and Rapid Trigger settings.

1. Select your ROG Falchion Ace HFX in the device category in Armoury Crate.

2. For this example, we will customize the W key for a DKS effect. Navigate to the Keys tab and select W on the keyboard interface.

3. From the dropdown list found on the right, select Dynamic Keystroke (DKS), and click Edit.

The DKS Mapping Interface

The key being edited will be shown under “Edited Key”.

The next column represents the four different actions that may be assigned.

By default, pressing "W" will output "W" throughout the entire keystroke, as indicated by the long bar to its right.

The numeric indicators above the long bar indicate the position of the key within the keystroke:

DKS_3.6_2.jpgWhen the key is initially released from the bottom (but still under the actuation point).

To reset an action, click anywhere on the solid bar.

To assign the action to the entire keystroke, click on a connector (+) and drag the right tip of the connector across to the right.

Helpful Tips:

Example DKS Applications

Now that you understand the DKS mapping interface, you can more easily customize DKS based on your particular game's needs. The following are several main usage scenarios in FPS games:

1. Hold W and L-Shift to sprint

2. Hold W but tapping L-Shift to switch between sprinting and running

3. Hold W and L-Shift to walk

4. Rapidly tapping E to pick up many items into inventory

Holding W + L-Shift to Sprint

In games where we hold down W to run forward and additionally hold the L-Shift key to sprint, DKS can assign this combo into the W key altogether, depending on keystroke intensity. The plan is to run when W is half pressed, and sprint when W is fully pressed.

1. Once you have chosen the W key to edit, assign L-Shift as the second action by clicking on the second action slot and then L-Shift.

2. Click on the second connector and drag the across to the next connector. This ensures that the L-Shift input will be active and continuous when the W key is fully pressed.

Holding W but tapping L-Shift to switch between sprinting and running

Instead of holding down L-Shift with the W key to sprint, some game mechanics require users to tap L-Shift to activate and deactivate the sprint. The goal is to configure W to only run when being partially pressed, and L-Shift to trigger once to activate sprint when W is fully pressed, and once again at initial release.

1. Once you have chosen the W key to edit, assign L-Shift as the second action by clicking on the second action slot and then L-Shift.

2. Click on the two connectors (+) in the middle, corresponding to the L-Shift action.

Hold W + L-Shift to Walk

In games where we hold down W to run forward and additionally hold down the L-Shift key to walk, DKS can assign this combo into the W key altogether, depending on keystroke intensity. The plan is to walk when W is half pressed and run when W is fully pressed.

1. Once you have chosen the W key to edit, assign L-Shift as the second action by clicking on the second action slot and then L-Shift.

2. Click the first connector (+) and connect to the second connector; click on the third connector and connect it to the last one.

Rapid Multi-Taps in a Single Keystroke

In battle royale games where players often must pick up items on the floor quickly, DKS configuration can allow the user to pick up to 4 items in close proximity quickly with one full keystroke. The plan is to configure the pick-up-item key to trigger 4 times in 1 single keystroke. In this example, we will edit the E key for this DKS setup.

1. Once you have selected the E key for a DKS setup, click on the long bar to reset the default configuration.

2. Click on the E action's 4 corresponding connectors (+).
