With the new hall effect switches (HFX), you are no longer locked to a fixed actuation point dictated by mechanical switches. The ROG Falchion ACE HFX enables you to fine-tune the actuation point for each individual key to match your personal preferences, typing habits, or the pursuit of speeeeeeeed.
1. To start the customization, select your ROG Falchion Ace HFX in the device category in Armoury Crate.
2. Select the Analog Trigger tab.
Under Actuation Point, you may set the global actuation point for all keys. The Global Dead Zone Settings slider provides a desired length of protection against accidentally triggering keys. Click on Edit to set alternative actuation points for other keys.
Keys with alternative actuation point settings will be labeled with where the actuation point is set.
3. The example above suits a gaming profile, where I set the WASD movement keys for a shorter actuation point distance (pre-travel) of 0.5mm, and a full 3.6mm for the windows key. All the other keys share the global actuation point distance of 1mm. This configuration ensures faster responses from my movement keys and a lesser likelihood of accidentally pressing the Windows key.
For reference, the actuation is set at 1.5mm for ROG RX optical switches, and ranges from 1.8 to 2.3 for ROG NX mechanical switches.
Helpful Tip: For general typing, it's important to keep a consistent actuation point across the board to minimize typos. For me, I keep it at 1mm. You may create separate profiles dedicated to general use and gaming, then switch between them easily by using the profile shortcuts (FN 1-6).
To further increase responsiveness, pair this feature with Rapid Trigger enabled.
