Zephyrus g16 gu603zv/bios 314 report

Hello, [https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/rog-zephyrus-series/bug-report-gu603-random-keyboard-failure-amp-hybri...]

I’m writing this report regarding BIOS version 314 for my Zephyrus G16 GU603ZV laptop. Thank you very much for releasing the fix.
System behavior: The keyboard no longer freezes and works stably. The system correctly enters sleep mode. However, stutters still occur (less frequently, but they are present).
Issue encountered:
Today, I tried to disable some of the P and E cores in the BIOS. After applying the settings, everything worked correctly. However, now the BIOS shows a maximum of 4 E-cores instead of 8, while the P-cores remain stable at 6. The maximum number of cores you can disable is 4.
I’m not sure if this is related to clusters or something else, but it is a bit frustrating.
P.S. The issue is specifically with the E-cores – previously it showed 8, but now only 4 are displayed.  I’m not sure if this is a real issue or intended behavior of the BIOS/CPU

If possible, try an EC reset. Then, if you encounter a BSOD, disable VMD (or vice versa): security boot > disable. VT-d > disable.

Next, it's highly recommended to format the drive, create an EFI bootloader from scratch, and install WinNTSetup > GU603VU Recovery China (to verify proper driver initialization). And if the problem is resolved, avoid combining partial disabling of the P-E cores with dGPU and undervoltage. This can cause crashes.

My logic is that the EFI bootloader and the display of options in the BIOS may be somehow related. For example, I observed the BIOS language partially switch to Chinese because I installed a Chinese OEM Windows. There was a case where deleting NVIDIA in the registry showed BIOS > vbios NA. I thought it was the end, but formatting fixed it!

Thank you for your reply. A hard reset does help, but only until the first shutdown of the E-cores. It is strange that ASUS support on the hotline did not suggest this solution. Qupting you: “Create an EFI loader from scratch and install WinNTSetup > GU603VU Recovery China to check the correctness of driver initialization.” I will try this. Thanks
