Before I bought this newer GU604VI-M16.I94070 lappy I had a slightly older GU603HE-211.ZM16 which had a Goodix fingerprint reader via the power on/off button.
The only issue was I was unable to get it to work in Linux due to the specific Hardware ID not being supported. I would love to see a reader in the next model in this lineup. When I bought this more expensive unit I just assumed it would come with one. No biggie though.
It worked fine in Win 11 and it would be nice to see it working in Linux as KDE Plasma supports it. Other Goodix models worked; just not this one..lol.
Perhaps I can mod the UEFI & install an on/off button from another unit 🙂
