“Weird” boxes of bright colored lights around bright objects while gaming

I haven’t done much PC gaming in a while with resource intensive stuff. Usually only played WoW, StarCraft, etc type games on PC for the past few years&used console for everything else. I decided to play a new game on PC, &noticed about 30 seconds in that a bottle caught the light&made a reflection of bright colorful orbs in a weird way. Not a huge issue. But then when I got into outer space, the thrusters when powered up all the way makes the same bright orbs appear in a large rectangle that makes the game unplayable. I’ve done different settings, in game&on my laptop. Nothing fixed it.

Any help would be great! I have a 2022 Asus g14, Ryzen 9 6900HS CPU, AMD Radeon RX 6700S GPU, 16GB RAM. All bone stock. Let me know if any other information is needed.

The photo upload is it connected to my TV via HDMI, but the issue is on both my laptop screen as well as any monitor/TV it’s hooked up to.

Could you try disabling any overlay software you might be using, like Discord or GeForce Experience? These can sometimes interfere with games and cause visual artifacts. Also, have you tried verifying the game's files through the game launcher?

This can rule out any corrupted game data.
