Hi, I recently bought a ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 2024. I can't play online games like ow2 and such. On my PC, my wifi bar always goes down to 1-2 bars, but on my phone when connected stays full.
I was wondering how to make the connection work properly, I'm not very tech savvy so any help is appreciated!

It could be any number of things, which is probably what you don't want to hear. Diagnosing these things from a distance is difficult. You provide a good clue though, comparing your indicated wifi strength of your PC and phone. First, though, we have to entertain the idea of product warranty, which if just purchased should still be covered. You might want to try that route first. Hopefully you won't have any RMA horror stories. Beyond that, the next steps are to check the driver version of your wifi card and install updates if available. You can also change some wifi card configuration settings and look for improvement. In Windows 11 you can right click the wifi icon in your system tray (where you see the 1-2 bars) and select Network and Internet Settings. In the Settings window that opens, go to the Wifi section and select More Adapter Options which will open a Wifi Properties window. It will open to the Networking tab and have the first selection in the list Client for Microsoft Networks highlighted. Click the Configure button which will open your wireless LAN card properties. Select the Advanced tab, and in the Property list select Preferred Band. Just to test things, set this to Prefer 5 GHz band. Then you can OK out of all those windows and maybe reboot your machine for good measure and see if signal strength changes. Your wifi environment might be rather cluttered if you are in or near an apartment complex, and if it is probably most of the radios will be set to the 2.4 GHz band. I'm assuming your wifi router is connecting and providing signal on both of those frequencies, with your phone connecting at 5 GHz and laptop trying to connect at a more cluttered 2.4 GHz frequency. A person could go further with this and get an app for your phone that will show you all the various wifi channels and your particular wifi spectrum of all the users within range. You could find a relatively unoccupied channel this way which might help with your bandwidth restrictions. Steps beyond this would be to pop covers and assess the physical antenna connections to your wifi card. Used to be, these things were visible under an inspection cover on the bottom of a laptop. Now you can only see the hard drive(s) and RAM memory card locations. I'm hoping it is only a driver update that will fix everything.
