Curious to hear from those who have owned both. I have a Zephyrus G16 (185H processor/4090m) that has been great for mixed use: gaming, work, travel etc., but I haven't traveled anywhere near as much this year as I did last year, so I've been thinking of swapping for the SCAR 18. Leaning toward doing so but figured this may be a good place to get some thoughts from folks. Gaming is pretty much the main intention at this point - probably a bit of work/productivity (audio eng as well) too, but not likely to be travelling much the rest of this year or next.
The main difference I'm curious about is the screen - the SCAR has a miniLED display whereas the Zephyrus has an OLED. My desktop monitor is an ROG XG279 (can't remember A, Q, M, R, etc.; they went nuts naming these....) - IPS panel, and put right next to the Zephyrus you could see the difference in color/sharpness/etc. I'm wondering how miniLED will compare; somewhere in between the two?
I'm also very interested in the larger screen size - I do find that appealing, especially for higher fidelity games. I'm also a bit unclear on the HDR functionality; specs say it's 8 bit but has the ability to play 10 bit without issue via a workaround; did I get that right?
