ROG Zephyrus G15 GA503RM Audio Glitches and Stutters

Been having audio issues with this laptop since buying it 5 months ago, initially thought it was a problem with my audio interfaces but I recently did a test with the device's internal jacks, and the audio glitches still occur.

System Info as follows :

  • Windows 11 Home
  • Ryzen™ 7 6800HS | 16 GB Ram | 1TB SSD
  • RTX™ 3060

The audio glitches occur randomly, sometimes I can trigger them by opening or closing an application while the audio is playing. It is a huge problem for me because I use the laptop for music production, and it is awful to be recording audio and find that the audio I recorded contains glitches and artifacts. The glitches occur at any time when using Ableton Live, streaming on Spotify, watching videos on YouTube, or streaming on Prime, from what I found they are often triggered by background windows processes.

I have tried many of the following fixes, but none of them have resolved this problem:

  • System reset and complete reinstallation of Windows 11.
  • Disabling all audio drivers except the audio interface's drivers.
  • Changed power plan settings to Windows and used high-performance settings (disabled CPU parking).
  • Uninstalled Nvidia and AMD Drivers.
  • BIOS Reset.
  • Run DPC Latencymon (most of the time it is fine for about 5-10 minutes then all of a sudden a random driver causes a spike).
  • Disabled all USB Power Saving options.

Any ideas on how I can solve this awful problem?

Have you tried installing realtek drivers from the asus website?

Yeah I have tried that, did a clean Windows install with an ISO directly from Microsoft. Installed drivers from Asus website, I have tried countless troubleshooting options, none of them worked.

Anytime most windows applications and background processes are opened or closed the glitch occurs. It gets more frequent when I use my audio interfaces, bare in mind that these interfaces don't have this issue on my older laptop. Running same drivers on both machines.

Have you tried disabling fTPM? Normally unpatched fTPM (which is unusually common on AMD-driven ASUS laptops) causes occasional stuttering. If your normal use doesn't have a lot of high-refresh motion like action games, the video stuttering might not be as noticeable as the sound stuttering is.

How do you disable it? There's no option to do so in Windows or in the bios.

This is only way to disable ftpm for us:

I didn’t have such strong glitches with sound as you are experiencing, but it helped me
