ROG Zephyrus G14 AW SE GA401QEC - Bluetooth driver issue

Hi all,

Would appreciate your help.

Just a few days ago my laptop updated drivers then restarted and I got the "Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart." Stop code SYSTEM_THREAD_EXEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (0x7E)

Kept going in circles, couldn't do anything so I gave in and started from scratch.

Win 11 and everything else worked fine including bluetooth connected devices. I had been very picky with updating drivers. Then this morning switched on, no bluetooth showing in the action center. Couldn't add any new bluetooth device or remove any existing ones. No bluetooth device would connect.

Checked device manager and it showed "Generic Bluetooth Adapter" with a "!". Checked the properties and it said "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. Code 43". Disabled and enabled. Restarted. No change. Checked for updates on (all) drivers via Driver Booster and I did the few it recommended, no change.

Then went to the asus website to check under drivers for my model and downloaded the latest Mediatek MT7921. Installed, restarted and boom back to the beginning. "Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart." Stop code SYSTEM_THREAD_EXEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (0x7E)

I did a restore (thankfully) so I got it back up just without any BT working. But it's super annoying because I need BT for some of my devices for gaming.

Did anyone run into the same issue or has any ideas?

Thanks in advance!
