ROG M16 2023 black screen no fan, keyboard light on

Hi Everyone, I'm posting this thread for help with my 2023 M16. It start to fail to boot yesterday after I carried it for a travel.

No response if turn on unplugged. Once pluged and click the power button, two indicator are on (power and charging light), keyboard light on, screen off, no fan sound. I wait for overnight nothing else happened. 

Things I tried: I upgraded a 32gb ram, with the original 16gm ram still in it. So I tried to take the new 32 gb ram away, didn't help.

Mine stuck with similar symptoms: can't boot, keyboard lit, screen is black, and no disk activity as per indicator. Hard turn-off with holding the power button did not help. The laptop got into this state when I put it into S3 sleep under Windows 11.

Currently, I'm trying to drain the battery hoping for a cold boot to help...

@AsusROGM16L did you resolve your issue? Did you try disconnecting the battery?

literally just joining you with the same problem, I was playing a game last night. Laptop crashed and forced a bios update. Now I have a permanent black screen, laptop turns on and indicates power to motherboard - screen stays off (no backlight etc.)

Contacted ASUS support and they have sent me round the house trying "hard resets" and its somehow made the situation worse. Before the laptop would stay "on" (light and keyboard are on, but screen off) until I turned them off, now it just turns itself off after a few seconds.

please let me know if you find a solution that works for you..

@same_guy  my problem was resolved after I brought the laptop to the store and there we disconnected the battery for a couple of minutes. My store warranty rules prohibit opening the device, so I was not able to de this at home.

I bought this on the 27th February 2024, warranty expired 5th March 2024. I barely got a week and now having a nightmare with DPD trying to come an collect it (they keep refusing, I assume its the no free parking situation)
