After install of latest Windows 24h2 march- april update laptop started experiencing bsod error (watchdog timeout) . My laptop has no overclocking , further more even in ideal state this problem happens. Visible effects are ->
1. Screen hang ( system wide)
2. Mouse keyboard (unresponsive)
3. A gliched bsod or black gliched display is left in hanged state.
I have tried resetting windows to mitigating driver problems etc . But nothing has worked till now. I after a clean install a little stability could be found. After analysing errors for days . I have discovered that amd cpu or igpu is missing some inturrept. This happen for processor 3 I am not sure what is causing this but as this is not received by it processor hangs and only option is hard rest using power button as a result to which in event viewer error 41 kernel power issue gets logged. Interesting thing is that If amd balanced driver os some other drivers are present logs don't get generated only if you experience this in clean windows install log in minidump gets generates for first time. Further installation on windows should be done using offline using local account as windows update process interfares otherwise.
My laptop is asus zephyrus g15 2021 (GA503QM) . I have verified that ram is not faulty , dgpu is fine and even igpu if made to run extensive tasks works fine. But a certain process are triggering this problem and do it very frequently ( these are not identifiable for normal users like me ). Power supply and gpu switching of igpu and dgpu along power plans are a major player that need to be considered. Started after latest armory crate update ( 6.1 Something ). Windows 24h2 update from 2024 dec still shows some stability and decreases the no of crashes.
Major problem from what I think is because of no proper driver, bios update still laptop run on 416 or 316 ( not sure if 400 or 300 at time of writing) after this there has been no update . Moreover amd driver support also stuck on 24.9.1. I am not running adrenaline software rather whatever asus gave still this problem is there.
