High CPU Temp after yesterdays windows update

Hello everyone hope you are doing okay!
So yesterday i just updated my windows since i got a notification and also my nvidia driver (from geforce)
And i just noticed that not only got some frame drops on games but also my laptop is hitting 55-60 degrees just by turning it on and idling on the desktop..

What do you think? It's a Zephyrus M15 that i bought new like 2 or 3 months ago.
I7 10th, RTX 2070 with Max-Q.

Hi, i do not recommend any NVIDIA driver after 446.14 (452.06 isn't bad but it introduces bugs with SteamVR so for the best performance stay on 446.14) And based on my experience with NVIDIA's newer drivers, i suspect the high CPU temps are due to your GPU working staying on high power 80% of the time (for no reason, if anything fps are worse)

Download DDU from here: https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
Download Windows update show/hide tool from here: https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/microsoft_show_or_hide_updates_troubleshooter.html
Now turn off your laptop's internet and start DDU then set device type to GPU and obviously select device to nvidia, then simply click clean and restart (pc will restart by itself)
Now simply install the nvidia driver you have downloaded. Then go to your connection properties and set it as metered, launch the windows update show hide tool and click next then hide updates and look for anything that says NVIDIA and tick it. Then simply click next and windows update shouldn't ever force the newer drivers on you. You can set the connection back to normal.

Hello fbajjar! Thanks a lot for your answer mate, for the nvidia driver i switched back to 462.52 (it's the last stable one) but i'm gonna follow your steps since i'm new in pc gaming stuff. Is it possible to mp you on Discord during the process? Bl1nGy#7216 don't worry i'm not gonna spam you ^^.

You were right mate, the GPU is staying at 60 degrees he is hot without being used.

i removed everything second monitor etc.. it's just on standby on desktop and it's like that.

Yeah i tried doing what fbajjar said but same thing, it's the windows update. They said it in the logs in "issues you may have"

i dont have this model laptop, but i would say just try with nvidia developer preview v470.14 or 470.76 , i am using on 940mx 2gb gddr5.

If you have followed my instructions on how to use the windows update show/hide tool to block windows update from updating your graphics driver it should have worked. Are you sure you have set your connection as metered when using the tool to block the update? Because if you didn't set your connection as metered then windows update will simply race you and install the graphics driver at the speed of light.

Did you fix the issue? I still got the exact same problem and only way to avoid is using old drivers.
