I saw this from Asus's twitter the other night. Looks like they're competing with Razor maybe for the thin ultra portable gaming crowd?

I would love to see a 4k display in a G750 with a maxwell based 880M.

1080p on 17 inches can be small. 4k @ 15inch? haha, thats gonna be some small text!
(ROG has simply become too expensive compared to the competition with same specs... 😞 )

No. I think it will be with GTX 860M.
GTX 880M fit on huge notebook, not on 15" notebook

It is a pretty neat laptop, glad to see a 4k screen in ROG's arsenal. However, no way will a GTX 860m push a game at 4k at high settings, possibly it could do 2k. Like you said it would be cool to see some high-res screens hit the G750s, probably by then mobile cards will hopefully be able to push at least 2k with high settings.

All that black aluminum is going to be a real pain to clean... 😉

Anyway, the 860M, 870M and 880M graphic chips can support graphics up to 4K resolution (3840 x 2160)
GTX 860M is most possible to put on 15" inch notebook

Sorry, meant to be able to push those resolutions at high settings. It's hard enough for desktop GPUs to pull that off.

???? makes no sense. 2k?
Intel I7 950, MSI Radeon 290x, Corsair Dominator GT 12GB 2000mhz, 256GB Samsung pro, 2TB WD Black, Danger Den Custom Case, Liquid Cooled

2k resolution = QHD or WQHD = 2560 x 1440 (16:9) = 3,686,400 pixels

Well, tbh 1920 is closer to 2K than 2560. Shouldn't 2560 be 2.5K? Or just use WQHD 😛

The G750JM still offers advantages like dual HDD bays and a total of 4 DIMM slots for example, and it should be cheaper due to less 'exotic' materials use for thinness, and pre-calibrated displays cost a lot. Unfortunately we cannot buy 17" panels over FHD resolution - only 15.6" has 2880 and 4K res.

We're pushing the boundaries of capable thermal design with the 860M, so you won't see above this in <19mm thick. While you may not be able to have every game at 4K with that GPU, you can enjoy videos or even create 4K videos with modern smartphones, or do Photoshop using this machine, then game at FHD/2880 for example. It's a blend of professional and gamer.

Text scaling in Win 8.1 is pretty much a non-issue now, it's only a few apps that are lagging on support.

Come on, the enemy is very close to do that (MSI GS60 2PE GHOST PRO: 19.9mm, 1.96kg, GTX 870M) 😄

Anyway I like the GX500... except the red edge. 😉

Sort of makes the G750 JM obsolete though. Why get big and bulky if you can go with thin + better display and still stay cool? 😐
