The rucksack was padded and the drop wasn't hard. No damage to exterior of laptop but now the screen is black. Keyboard lights up briefly at power-on and the power light works. Have tried external monitor port and no display there either.
Out of warranty.
Wondering if anyone has experience of dead display after a light drop?
Update: Fixed. Faulty mem module.
