I have a new 2024 G16. I'm trying to run Chrome with the nVidia 4090 graphics, but no matter what I set, it uses the integrated graphics. I used the nVidia control panel to set the default graphics to the nVidia GPU, I explicitly set Chrome to the nVidia GPU, but when I run a GPU intensive task, the load is on the integrated graphics. Other programs successfully use the dedicated graphics.

When I try that get a spinning cursor for about 5 seconds, then the window closes.
I installed the latest nvidia drivers and nvidia app - no change

I'm just a user and I don't know all the technical stuff. I don't know exactly why these settings don't work for you. If possible, I think you should reinstall Windows, you can do this by going to Settings > System > Recovery > Reset this PC. Or in my opinion the preferred option is to reinstall it, downloading the installation image from the Microsoft website (microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11), or for example from other sites, 1 - (os.click/en), 2 - (massgrave.dev/windows_11_links). Just put it on a USB drive and install it (rufus.ie/en/).
Starting with Windows 11 24H2, BitLocker encryption is automatically enabled on devices with TPM during a clean install learn.microsoft.com/... (just so you know)

Hello,
Does chrome use hardware acceleration by default? (check options in chrome as you might need to enable it)
