I just recently got the ROG Zephyrus G15 with the 4070 and I'm having some issues with it.
One - the batter life ranges wildly from 2hours to 7 hours (At the same level of charge, on power mode for the battery, silent mode in armoury crate, and optimized mode for GPU)
This jumps around wildly and really doesn't give me much confidence in the battery life. If I have pretty much nothing but a browser (Brave) running and watching youtube, what is the realistic battery life I should get?
Two - The charger, when I plug the charger in (Wall outlet, not a powerbar) I immediately hear a crackling noise coming from under my keyboard. Is that normal? I've never had a laptop do that before, but I also didn't have a laptop with a 230W charger. With the Intel chip issues I'm worried this is slowly frying my processor.
Three - Armoury Crate just... being trash. I don't know what happened, but I had to fully reset and reset up my laptop 3 separate times in order for armoury crate to stop hijacking my settings. It wouldn't let me swap GPU modes, wouldn't put my GPU in power savings, wouldn't turn my fans on while on performance mode(when CPU was at 90 degrees..) It took 3 fresh resets, not reinstalls for the app, but complete computer wipes and resets, for it to finally work. Is this app just that broken?
Four - Lastly - the CPU gets up to over 90 degrees just having an idle game running and youtube. That.. seems way too high. Is that normal? I feel like it can't be. My surface 1 from 2017 could run the same game and browser while staying under 70.
I know this is a lot of questions, but any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.
