Brand new GA605WI ASUS Zephyrus G16 - BSOD

Well well ... I just bought it 3 days ago and I just started to use it. I installed Chrome and simply started to play with some OS settings. Nothing much.

I manually installed the wifi drivers as the device was not able to stay connected. And I also started to experience a few BSOD. Last one is about stop code 'INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE'. Online I can see I should try to change the VMD controller but my BIOS (v310 from Dec2024) doesn't have that option !?! What to do?

Anything else I should do to get it stable? ... it seems so unstable that after using it for 1-2 days I would like to send it back.

Hello,

When you say manually installed the drivers, do you mean downloaded and ran the setup file?

When does it BSOD, randomly or when you are doing something specific?

1) yes, manually run the setup of the package downloaded from ASUS

2) I just got it again ... right now I am installing WoT game so it is accessing the SDD for that. But I don't know how to access the VMD.

The laptop runs very hot too !

The term VMD refers to an Intel based storage technology and does not apply to an AMD based laptop (You have an AMD CPU?).

It is possibly crashing due to faulty RAM or the SSD.

Give this a go and see what happens, in the start menu type windows memory diagnostic.

Then when it pops up choose restart and check for problems, if it shows errors you will at least know where the problem lies.

What has 'INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE' to do with memory?

Now trying the full RAM Test via BIOS. I can only enter BIOS as the laptop keeps throwing BSOD now!

Tests done via BIOS:

1) RAM test passed

2) SSD test passed (it lasted 1 sec !)

well ... now it is pretty much unusable !!! I only get BSOD !

Maybe I should send it back.
