Hi all,
I'm frustrated with the short cable coming from the power brick of my GU605 ROG Zephyrus G16 laptop. It is way too short! So I'm looking if I can find an extension cable for the plug that's at the end of this brick.
I know this is probably a propiety connector.
Anyone knows what is it called? What is the name?
Is there any extention cable available on the market?
Another solution would be to go the USB C PD route with a long cable, but what is the maximum power wattage that is supported using the USB C PD charging port?
A third solution is to cut the cable and solder an extra wire to it, but I want to know how many leads are in this wire and if it will have any affect on recognizing the power brick by the computer.
Any help is welcome.

Hi all,
I had the courage to cut the cable in two and extend it. It works fine. The cable coming out of the brick is a coax type of a cable, with a inner lead, insulated with a white insulation. Then there is a threaded nylon wire to release the stress on the cable. And next to this threaded nylon wire, there is a small blue cable (I think for the signaling). Then you have a aluminium foil insulation and the outer bread. So I extended the cable with a simple 3 pole cable that was used as a power supply cable for another brick that was broken. It works fine, the extra non insulated cable I added seems not to have impacted the signaling from the brick to the computer.
