MYASUS, brought up a new sound driver the other day (V6.0.9738.1). After installing it, it broke the volume slider in windows. Meaning: Its either 100% volume, or Muted, nothing in between.
Had to revert back to 9715.
I downloaded 9738 from asus support website, thinking maybe re-installing it manually would fix. It didn't.
I chose to "uninstall device" Realtek Audio, and check the box to delete the driver.
After rebooting, it re-installed 9715, and all is well.
I checked back today, and 9738 has been removed from the asus driver page for my model, but sadly, its still showing available in My Asus.
BEWARE!!

Yesterday, Windows Update automatically installed the 9738 drivers, highlighted in blue. By the time I noticed, it was already done.
The audio is working fine, the volume bar is OK, and there’s no freezing.
After that, I manually selected the driver highlighted in yellow to install, and everything went smoothly too.

thank you all for your responses, but i just downloaded https://www.asus.com/es/supportonly/pn41/helpdesk_download/ and worked like magic, so i'll wait until there is a more stable

Audio is more or less fixed but don't you guys get boosted loud audio before signing into W11? Like it'll make that little short tune at the login screen. But once you press the volume button up/down after signing in it'll revert back to that audio level number you've set it at.

not really, my problem was that i didn't have any audio at all, and when i had audio it was from 0% to 100% only mode, it was annoying af, still can't belive that i paid so much for this kind of laptop and get this kind of defaulty drivers.

It was a mistake they should've tested first. As a person that loves having the latest drivers, they really need to release versions past the faulty 9738.1 already. There is already 975x.x now. Either they need to hire someone or appoint someone trusted from the forums to do more frequent driver updates on the main website.

A hotfix popped up on MyAsus today, but everything was already working fine on 9738. It rolled the driver back to 9715, but then Windows Update reinstalled 9738. All good here... lol

Had the same result of it downgrading then forced update via WU. Unless you can hide updates in MyAsus or you can stand it annoying you with a notification for update, you're better off just installing it then doing the upgrade path. Personally, I just wiped my Realtek drivers and did fresh install just in case. Had to refine my method a bit so now volume stays where it's at upon boot while having the latest drivers from Cirrus, SST, and one behind Realtek.
