Asus Zephyrus Duo 16 monitor issue

MEXZ1
Level 7

Hi everyone,
My spec :
Asus Zephyrus Duo 16
AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX with Radeon Graphics (3.30 GHz)
64,0 Go

I’m running into a really weird issue on my Asus Zephyrus Duo 16 (RTX 3080 Ti 16GB, Ryzen 9 6900HX, 64GB RAM).
This started right after today’s Windows update and the new NVIDIA driver update.

🧩 The problem

After the update, my main display (the top screen) is now being detected as the secondary ScreenPad Plus (bottom screen).
Meanwhile, the small bottom screen is being recognized as my main display in Windows.

Because of that:

  • The main screen’s resolution is locked to the small screen’s values.

  • The colors look washed out / slightly white, like there’s a haze or overlay on top.

  • I can’t change resolution or refresh rate because Windows thinks the displays are swapped.

🧠 What might be happening

It seems like the update caused Windows or NVIDIA to mix up the display IDs.
On the Zephyrus Duo, the top screen usually runs on the NVIDIA GPU, and the bottom one on the integrated AMD GPU — and now they appear reversed.

⚙️ What I’ve tried

  • Rebooted several times.

  • Checked Windows Display Settings and NVIDIA Control Panel.

  • Tried changing which screen is “main” — no luck.

  • HDR on/off didn’t fix the haze either.

I have rolled back the NVIDIA driver and AMD, uninstall ScreenX etc
Nothing works !!!!!

Has anyone else had this happen?

I’m wondering if other Zephyrus Duo 16 users have run into the same issue after today’s updates
and if so, did you find a reliable fix or workaround?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This laptop is amazing when it works, but right now it’s driving me crazy 😩
