I purchased an ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025) laptop in the configuration rtx 5070ti, 2TB ssd, Intel Core Ultra 9 285H, OLED 2560 × 1600 240Hz.
When using the laptop in slightly reduced ambient light (for example, during the day, further from the window), the oled panel has a very noticeable mura effect (each individual pixel shines with a slightly different brightness and shade of color), in short, a strange graininess. It is so noticeable that the laptop cannot even be viewed comfortably in the evening. This problem appears on the display at any screen brightness setting.
For comparison, I compared it with a much cheaper oled laptop ASUS Vivobook S 16 from 2024, which I also have at home. This laptop (Vivobook) did not suffer from this problem at all, even with absolutely zero ambient light.
Therefore, I want to ask if this problem is common with the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025) or if it is just a single defective item. The seller has already refunded my money for this product (I am in the EU and I returned the product within the legally required 14-day period from purchase without giving a reason), but I am wondering if it is a good idea to order this laptop again so that I don't end up with the same problem. Or if there is a software solution to this problem?
