Looks like you might be in completely the wrong forum for this (posted in ROG Ally forum) but since I have a 2024 G16 that I'm trying to run Ubuntu 24.04 on I might as well ask - have you managed to get display brightness to work?
I haven't looked into the sound for any issues, nor tried to intentionally play any sounds, but my device was making noises out the box with Ubuntu when there were notifications etc.
I've bailed out of setting up Ubuntu back to W11 for the evening because even with everything in dark theme my eyes keep getting seared by bright websites or UI elements.

I found that issue for the screen brightness as well, however, when I switched to dedicated NVIDIA graphics, the screen brightness controls worked fine. When it was on the CPU graphics, it never worked.

Ah thanks, so far I've only been using the igpu, with the 4070 assigned to vfio, I'll enable the graphics card then 🙂

Glad you asked this because I am having the same issue for my 2024 G16. Based on this article, it seems like we have to wait for kernel 6.10.
