Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo question?

Hello all, my buddy has a 2021 model ROG Zephyrus Duo 4k 120hz with a Ryzen 9 5900HX, I believe 32gb of RAM, and an RTX 3080.

He asked me to help him out because he was having poor gaming performance issues. I was able to deduce that this was due to thermal throttling issues.

Does anyone have any experience with this laptop? I'm wondering what the temps would be if he were somehow able to elevate the laptop to avoid blocking the bottom vents and maybe recommendations for how to accomplish this? I recommended he buy a cooling pad but I would hate for him to spend additional money on a significantly expensive laptop if the sole issue is just that it's not elevated enough to allow for proper cooling.

Make sure its running the certified ASUS drivers for the model. Also cap the FPS to 60 on the Nvidia driver panel, cap with the games themselves. There is no need to run uncapped - it will simply allow the laptop to overheat its GPU.

Do not run the Nvidia native drivers from Geforce experience - these do not know how to manage the power properly on these Asus machines.

that laptop has sufficient cooling, it even pulls air from the vend below the 2nd screen, sounds like it needs a clean
