Asus ROG STRIX G634JY 2024 Micro stuttering

My 2024 STRIX G634JY with RTX 4090 micro stutters when I use the RTX 4090. If I am using the iGPU it is fine. I have looked around and see other threads that this has been a problem as far back as 2023 with those versions.

I find this unacceptable for a $6000 laptop. Everything lags including even typing out this message and it makes gaming and working on it absolutely impossible. I have tried the Armory Crate and changing the performance settings including disabling the dGPU. Disabling the dGPU seems to be the only fix. But then I have no GPU performance at all which I need in my work.

Changing Nvidia drivers does not seem to help either. I am using Windows 11 and I have the latest updates.

Does anyone have any fixes or solutions at all? My laptop also has an i9 HX CPU so there should be no performance problems whatsoever.

Seriously is there no reply here? The microstuttering is maddening.

Potential Causes and Solutions:

Driver Issues:

1) Outdated Drivers: Ensure you have the latest drivers for your RTX 4090 GPU and chipset. Outdated drivers can introduce bugs and performance issues.
2) Conflicting Drivers: Check for any conflicting drivers, especially if you've recently installed new software or hardware. Try updating or uninstalling any conflicting drivers.

Overheating:

1) Thermal Throttling: If the GPU or CPU is overheating, it may throttle its performance to prevent damage. Clean the laptop's vents and fans regularly, and consider using a cooling pad.
2) Thermal Paste: Over time, thermal paste can degrade. If your laptop is older, reapplying fresh thermal paste to the CPU and GPU can improve heat dissipation.

Power Supply Issues:

1) Insufficient Power: Ensure your laptop is connected to a reliable power source. A weak power supply can cause voltage fluctuations and affect performance.
2) Power Cable Issues: Check the power cable for any damage or loose connections.

Software Conflicts:

1) Background Applications: Close unnecessary background applications that might be competing for system resources.
2) Antivirus Software: Temporarily disable your antivirus software to see if it's interfering with GPU performance. If the issue is resolved, create exceptions for the RTX 4090 and the games you play.

Hardware Issues:

1) GPU Defects: In rare cases, the GPU itself might be defective. If you've tried all other troubleshooting steps without success, consider contacting ASUS for a repair or replacement.

Game Optimization:

1) Game Settings: Adjust the game's graphics settings to match your hardware capabilities. Lowering settings like resolution or texture quality can sometimes improve performance.
2) Game Patches: Ensure you have the latest game patches installed. Developers often release updates to address performance issues.

Additional Tips:

1) Benchmarking: Use benchmarking tools to assess your system's overall performance and identify any bottlenecks.
2) Stress Testing: Run stress tests to determine if your hardware is stable under heavy loads.
3) System Restore: If you've made recent changes to your system, try restoring it to a previous point.

Done all these things. Nothing has helped at all. It's clearly a fault with the machine...
