ASUS GX501 //keyboard and the lights problems

Hello,

I have a ASUS GX501 (Zephyrus) laptop bought about 8 mouths ago.
OS Win10/64 bit

Few days ago I started to have the following problems:

- all the lights are off (start button, keyboard, pad, air vents). Is on only the status led. The start button is working, the keyboard no.
- the keyboard is not working (in BIOS and in Windows) but the PAD is working in both)
(Who don't know the model should to know that is a button who make the change between Pad and the right numbers. So the Pad works but the numbers don't.)
-I cannot to switch between keyboard numbers and PAD, so only the PAD works
-The keyboard drivers works fine, I uninstall them and the system was able to install them back
-I can use a USB keyboard
-The diagnose program show me a large number of failure for a program named Auralisten.exe
- I never update myself BIOS (I have the laptop since March 2018) but now I can see my BIOS version as 903.
The version is since 10.09.2018 which means a program upgrade it automatically and without my permission.

Any help will be useful. Anybody had this issues? The Asus support is a bad joke.

Thank you

Hi Liviu

I sent my laptop to Asus service Romania and they said the motherboard was the issue and it needs to be replaced so no software or bios problems.
Luckily it's still in warranty.
Hope this helps

My notebook was out of warranty, unfortunately they do not want to be responsible for the faulty firmware / bios they released.

Thank you for your help.

I have my GX501VIK shipped to Asus maintenance in Netherlands, and I just got the report: N-key firmware solved the keyboard issue. This was the second time that this happened (keyboard dead and GPU on ECO-mode), but this time the warranty had ended. Both times keyboard firmware was the solution, and it's not available for consumers.

Asus charges me about 100 euros for shipment and stuff as the warranty had ended, I hope this is the last time the keyboard died.

Were in Portugal it would be the same they charge a lot and Portugal Midle class range is very poor, but you allways can go further and demand Asus to assume the problem were we got some laws of protetion for products destination works, and there allways the Asus Factory that can help is this cases, Good Luck

Well my keyboard died for the third time on the same laptop, again forcing the GPU to eco-mode. As usual, I contacted the support asking for N-key firmware, and as usual, they don't offer it for consumers and request sending the laptop to their official maintenance. So I did that again, except now they want to replace the motherboard and charge me 2,400 euros for it!!! If that's really the ultimate solution, why fix the N-key firmware always within the warranty, and then after warranty charge me the price of the laptop again, FFS...
