Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a 2025 ROG Zephyrus G14 with the RTX 5070 Ti and I'm experiencing poor webcam quality. The image is very grainy and washed out, even in good lighting conditions.
The Issue:
- Webcam produces grainy, low-quality video
- Camera shows up as generic "USB2.0 HD UVC WebCam" in Device Manager
- Currently using the generic Windows USB Video Class driver
Hardware ID: USB\VID_13D3&PID_52BA&MI_00
What I've Tried:
- Downloaded the Realtek camera driver from the ASUS support page, but the hardware ID doesn't match my camera
- Windows Update (no additional drivers found)
- Reinstalling the generic driver
My Questions:
- Does anyone else with a 2025 G14 have this same hardware ID (PID_52BA)? What driver are you using?
- Is there a specific driver that works with this camera model?
- Is this just how the camera performs, or could this be a hardware defect?
Any help would be appreciated. I'm trying to determine if this is a driver issue, a known limitation of the webcam, or if I should consider an RMA.
System Info:
- Model: ROG Zephyrus G14 (2025) GA403
- GPU: RTX 5070 Ti
- OS: Windows 11
- BIOS: American Megatrends International, LLC. GA403WR.309, 9/17/2025
Thanks in advance!
