Got a new 2024 Zephyrus G16 with the AMD HX 370 processor & chipset a few weeks ago. Overall, it's a deccent machine and I opted for this model over the Intel based on performance / watt.
One thing that I recently noticed is that plugging any sort of USB DAC into either of the USB - C ports on the laptop causes some very strange behavior, none of it good.
Apple Music refuses to play any music at all and just skips through album tracks as though there's no file data
Amazon Music plays and then pauses and then plays and then pauses music indefinitely in very short ~1 second intervals. Pressing play/pause in the app has no effect.
Youtube video audio stutters when playing. Also, the play/pause control in the web browser doesn't stop playback.
The volume control of one of the USB DACs doesn't work - volume shoots up to 100 with a single press, then refuses to decrease until some magic sequence of more and less volume on the DAC switch sends it careening back down to 0. Both DACs work fine on an Intel i9 14th gen laptop, and they also work fine on iPhone and Macbook Pro. The vendors claim that these DACs work with Windows 11 machines, so I can only conclude that there's something not quite right with the G16.
I've checked for updated chipset drivers for this model, and haven't found anything. Also, while I see there are a few questions and issues relating to G16 audio in this forum, none seem to be USB related, or applicable to the AMD version of this laptop.
Can anyone else with a G16 Zeph AMD confirm whether they're able to get USB audio working ok? Seems to me that I did have this working at one point, but perhaps with a different USB DAC connected.

Later, after making my post, I searched around and did find an Anker USB-C to 3.5mm dongle that seems to work with my G16. No idea why the 2 other USB DACs don't work, but assume it's some sort of chipset/driver issue specific to AMD that results in it only playing nice with certain externally connected DACs. Anker doesn't document which DAC they use, only that it can handle 24bit/96kHz, but one of the other dongles is a HiBy D1 and it has a Cirrus Logic CS46L41. The other USB DAC dongle has a RealTek ALC5686 and that seems to work ok too.
Also, I should note that the issue occurs with any/all of the USB ports, not just the USB-C ports.
