XTUservice GL703GS

Hi,

I've bought this lovely laptop and I've noticed the XTUservice taking up about 0.3% (fluctuating) of the CPU on idle.

I'm not doing any overclocking of any kind.

What is this service doing for me and my laptop? Why is it preinstalled?

Likely it's an aspect of the ROG Gaming Centre with the XTU service just reading out some of the CPU registers frequency etc. my own GL703GS is the same.

You were spot on! I disabled XTUservice and then the values stopped being ready by the gaming centre.

I've left it disabled so I see no reason to sacrifice 0.3% of CPU for it.

I'd check to see if the TDP down feature still works AKA Silent mode as this drops the CPU from a longterm Turbo max of 45W to 35W helping to keep the notebook cooler & quieter.

I've just checked and it's working 🙂
