Disabling SMART in the BIOS allowed me to install the Creators Update on my GL502VS-DB71.

After installing the update did you re-enable SMART? Or you leave it off? Also did you notice any significant performance increases with the new update? Thanks

Hello guys,
has anyone experienced problems in accessing to advanced startup options with the new creators update? I am on the Asus ROG Strix GL502VM-DB71-HID3 (SSD pre installed) and after the update, whenever I tried to access to advanced startup options, I am able to get to the screen listing all of them but, if I select any, the pc reboots and stays frozen at the Asus ROG logo...
Has anyone the same problem?

Thanks!

Yes. I confirm that I have this too.
I was trying to get out of a stuck safe mode yesterday and I had this problem. I didn't give it much importance ( because I thought it is because I am trying to bypass safe mode).
But now I know it is not of that.

Has anyone tried new BIOS (version 302) yet?

I did, same problem, still no solution :c

I did as well, now when I restart it does that error about BCE or whatever it is. I assume that 302 put my SMART back on, haven't turned it off yet. Wish they would have addressed the situation with 302, as the Fall creators update isn't that far away.

Chiming in here with less information than you guys, waiting for my GL502VS to arrive.

On my desktop machine, I have a Samsung 960 Evo NVMe and a Samsung 850 Evo SATA. Both required firmware updates via the Samsung Magician software.

After reading through this entire thread, I saw no reference to this at all. Has anyone tried the Magician software with these pre-installed NVMe drives? Does the software even recognize it? Or is it only usable for the aftermarket Evo drives?

Fingers crossed that there is a firmware update to rectify some of these issues, and that it's as easy to install as it was on my Evo drives.

I agree...ASUS should release a firmware update to correct all this stuff immediately!

Did you see if Samsung Magician recognizes the SSD? ASUS can't release a firmware update for Samsung.
