Just to understand cause I have not tried it..is the clean install of the Creators update working normally? (i.e. not requiring strange workarounds with the power button at startup like the upgrade) Has anyone tried it? Thanks

Installed from scratch (USB thumb drive) and problems persist, only cold boot works.

My question is just if ASUS is going to resolve the Creator's Update issue that prevents it from installing correctly.

Nvidia is getting the next Geforce driver ready (which includes the fix for the missing device from the hardware compatibility list) according to their official forums, but the Creator's Update issue isn't on Microsoft to fix- it's up to ASUS to fix their own bad configuration.

If there's a reasonable expectation that ASUS will fix it, then I have no problem waiting since this laptop is my work laptop and I can't afford to botch the install of either the Geforce driver (using the hotfix) or the Creator's Update.

If not, then it may be time for me to move to a different laptop which is infuriating since this laptop is brand new.

Are you using the NVIDIA driver with the hotfix?

Has anyone found a solution for the Card Reader? Because ever since i done the creator update...
I am having EIF issue the black screen during the boot Process
Nvidia Latest drives Dont work
And finally but last the SD media card reader is not working .....
The driver is not compatible anymore.

GeForce Hotfix Driver 381.78!!!

NOTE: The GeForce Hot Fix driver version 381.78 addresses the following 381.65 driver issue:

-Fixes Windows 10 Creators Update booting to a black screen on certain notebooks

1) Use version 378.92 (not anything newer)
2) When upgrade reboots and you see the ROG logo, power machine off immediately by pressing power button, then power it on after a few seconds. Do this again for the second reboot. The upgrade will be successful but you cannot do reboot any more, you will have to power off and power on to achieve the same thing. I guess this is a firmware issue with ASUS, it should get fixed.

Discharging has some workaround on tweaking voltage, I am still exploring how to do it.

Thanks vfuyong. I'll try the windows update later. I remember installing the updates a few times
First time, it just rebooted and start windows normally like no update
Second time, I reached blue screen with options. Something about continue to boot windows, wifi update, usb update and such. Chosen to continue reboot.
Third, I got stuck with the Asus ROG logo, waited about 30mins before giving up and power off and on. Windows rebooted like normal but no update.
Fourth, I reached red screen with update bar. It reached 28% before giving up on itself and rebooting.

Will try your method next.

Same problem with Creators update and GL502VS.
It looks suspicious together with nvidia driver issue.

Some one found a way to simply postpone the update?
