Windows Creator Update Installation Failure on GL502VS - workaround

Has anyone faced any issues installing the New windows Creator Update on their GL502VS.
It gets stuck at BIOS when it restart. And then roles back to the old version

This is the error i see
0xC1900101 - 0x20017 Installation failed during safe OS phase with an error during boot operation'
Help please?

Ok The Nvidia drive fix worked.. But still having the Startup UEIF Screen Issue.
And the Card Reader is not working either...
Any solution for the card reader ?

Are you using the card reader driver from ASUS? It should work.

Whats the fix for both update issue?
1. Nvidia
2. Windows 10 creator

Its kinda annoying that we have these now aside from the heating and discharge issue.

1) Use version 378.92 (not anything newer)
2) When upgrade reboots and you see the ROG logo, power machine off immediately by pressing power button, then power it on after a few seconds. Do this again for the second reboot. The upgrade will be successful but you reboot in future will fail, you will have to reboot (CTRL+ALT+DEL) again upon the failure in order to enter Windows. I guess this is a firmware issue with ASUS, it should get fixed.

Discharging has some workaround on tweaking voltage, I am still exploring how to do it.

Even if you do a fresh install of CU from ISO or thumb drive you cannot reboot normally anymore?

I personally did not do a fresh install because I do not want to use additional Windows 10 license. I think Rishme in this thread did a fresh install, as he/she did not express a similar issue I would assume a fresh install does not affect reboot.

I installed CU from scrath (USB) without any problem, except for nvidia drivers of course :P. I can reboot the laptop with no issue at all.

Is ASUS going to fix this? Can't upgrade to CU, few reboots then it would say that update failed. Come on ASUS, at leasy let us know you're working on this issue.

I have a GL702VM. I had the same problem with the latest Nvidia driver (which are the first set to officially support CU) thatI fixed by modifying the *inf file provided with the driver so that the hardware ID is supported by the driver. See this video:

An important step is, when attempting to install the driver, to reboot so that windows driver signature is not enforced otherwise the driver installation will fail (basically because it will understand that you tampered with the inf file of the driver). You just need to do for that for the windows session in which you will install the driver. Check "Option two" here:

I am running now 381.65 drivers and they work flawlessly. However, as many of you, I have the same problem related to update to CU.
