Washed out grey screen help.

Hi, I recently noticed that my screen on my G55 is displaying a washed out dull grey picture rather than the bright picture it used to display. I re calibrated the screen and it fixed the problem but as soon as I shut the laptop lip and reopened it the problem came back.
