hello , so it’s been a few weeks i have been trying to find a solution but to no avail .
So the situation is quite troublesome , i bought a new external monitor to set it up to my laptop , before i did this i checked my laptop specifications n i did confirm that both rhe usb c ports are compatible , but when actually plugging it in the screen goes blacks every 4-5 seconds , i tweaked around w the settings and realized that it stops when i put it into 60hz (instead of 240,200,180,144 or even 120)
So i tell myself oups maybe this is a cable problem (even tho my cable supports 2k 240hz since its a dp2.1 so why in fhd it only supports 60hz , i checked my monitors dp adapter and its a 1.4 but that shouldn’t be a problem i think , anyways since that didn’t work i buy a new cable (the u green one ) which works with others but still did not solve my problem even tho it has a 48gb-/s brand switch (the same as my laptops) , its really frustrating so i go online and try every fix possible , i keep doing that for 5 days hut nothing , tried uninstalling the driver that’s charged with the connection of usb c to dp , tried both ports , tried updating bios nothing , everything is in order and should work , but it’s not . So i sticked to and hdmi for now since my laptop supports 2.1 and my monitor has. 2.0 connector so it works at 240hz but i’m planning to return the monitor to get a wqhd 240hz monitor but the usb c to dp is not working so i’m really out of solutions here
the laptop is a rig strictly g18 with a rtx 5070, will edit the post and give u the exact model and bios version when i’m going to be home , hope som1 can help me fix it 😔🙏
