I acquired i G15 Strix model G512li for very $100 bucks due to no power. I initially thought I could just solder a new DC jack but that didn't quite fix the issue so I ran some more diagnosing and figured the Motherboard had just been fried. I was able to find a decent priced motherboard for the G512LV. Which is an upgrade but I'm wondering if the chassis for the li is compatible with the LV components. I ordered the motherboard. I know I need the heatsinks and fans for LV and the battery but looking at pictures the battery seems it has different screw points. Has anyone ever done this upgrade? Does anyone know if the swap if feasible?
