This issue occurs after I uninstall realtek x-fi mod driver. I've been trying to install a bunch of realtek drivers( include driver in Asus cd); however, It does not work. Please help! Thanks a lot!
Ps: I've updated my bios to ver 209.

I recommend using Windows System Restore to restore your system to the time before you started attempts to change the Realtek driver version. Does that resolve your issue?

It's unfortunate that I turned system restore off in the first time I use this machine. Do you have another solution?

I see... Can you restore the Windows System Image from a backup in that time period (before you changed the Realtek driver)?

I cannot find any system image on this laptop. Does the new bios affect on THX? I've updated it to ver 209.

I was recommending restoring the Windows System Image from a backup of the system that you made. When you make changes to a system, particularly when changing drivers, it's good to have some way to undo those changes if they don't perform as expected.

Without a System Restore Point or backup, you'll need to try and undo the changes to the Realltek driver manually. THX TruStudio depends on the Realtek driver. That's why it is throwing the error you report.

Try booting into Safe Mode and uninstalling the current Realtek driver. Then reboot into Safe Mode and use Driver Sweeper to remove any Realtek driver remnants (if they exist). You may also want to use CCleaner to cleanup the registry. Reboot and Windows will detect your sound card and install its Plug N Play sound driver. Then install the Realtek driver of your choice.

THX TruStudio is basically just equalizer settings for the Realtek driver. If you uninstall THX TruStudio, a graphic equalizer may be displayed in the Speakers section of Realtek HD Audio Manager. I believe it is located in the "Sound Effects" tab in that section along with several pre-configured sound effect selections.

+1

And keep in mind, @starforce2142, THX TruStudio must actually be turned "on" to activate its equalizer settings and override the Realtek Audio Manager equalizer.

Honestly, from looking at your desktop, it looks like you have so much stuff running simultaneously that it might be awfully hard to know what audio programs are actively affecting the audio devices and which aren't. This is a case where less is more....as Drew suggested, it would be a good idea to uninstall ALL the audio drivers & programs you've got on board, then just install the one Realtek driver you need, followed by THX TruStudio, if that's what you actually want to use for audio equalization.

You've got SRS Essentials & DFX, too (amongst other audio programs). You can't use all this stuff at once.

I uninstalled all my audio drivers and other audio programs in safe mode. I 'd followed Drew's instruction but it still did not work. Now i have to deal with another problem. The problem is that I can't downgrade my bios version and it is more likely that the new bios involves in THX's issue.

I am almost certain your THX issue has nothing to do with your BIOS update.

I would uninstall/reinstall THX TruStudio if you were able to successfully install the Realtek Sound driver and remove SRS Essentials, DFX, and any other audio applications.

I completely removed all programs, drivers related to my audio device and successfully reinstalled realtek driver. I even repaired my OS by choosing the "upgrade" selection. However, the isue still exists.
