The screw for the CPU broke while I was attempting to check the liquid metal paste.

Hey everyone,

I wanted to update you on the situation with my BaseBoard Product G634JZ laptop. Recently, I noticed that the temperature was reaching 100ºC while playing games, so I decided to investigate. I opened up the laptop to check the ASUS LM job, and while attempting to unscrew the components, one of the screws broke. Despite this setback, I proceeded to remove the remaining screws and reapply the ASUS Liquid Metal paste, as I found the initial application to be quite messy, with excess LM and black spots near the CPU and GPU, indicating poor contact.

Although the temperature has improved after reapplying the paste, I'm now facing a new issue. I'm unable to unscrew the broken screw, and I'm concerned about leaving the laptop in this condition. I'm contemplating whether ASUS would be willing to repair it, considering that the laptop is otherwise functioning perfectly. I'm puzzled as to how the screw could have broken so easily, as it's the one located under the sticks. I've also attached some images for reference.

Thanks for your help!

I have been grappling with the following issue: my laptop is experiencing overheating, reaching temperatures as high as 100ºC, and I have observed voltage spikes up to 1.6v.
