I recently purchased the Strix Scar 18 (2025) and also own the Strix Scar 18 (2023). I bought the new laptop as a FreeDOS version and installed all the necessary drivers automatically through ASUS's software.
However, I’ve noticed a significant difference in sound quality between the two models. The 2023 model has a well-balanced audio output with surround sound, where treble and bass are combined smoothly. In contrast, the 2025 model lacks surround sound and produces a chunky, unbalanced mix of treble and bass, making the audio feel less refined.
I compared both laptops side by side, and the difference is quite noticeable.
I reinstalled Windows, installed all drivers along with Realtek and Dolby features, and checked Device Manager for any issues.
