This laptop is Strix Scar 17 2023 (R9 7945HX, 4080).
It is making me CRAZY. I bought a 6400MHZ DDR5 Hyper X RAM, and I'm trying to use it on my laptop.
I got to UMAF and went to AMD OverClocking; I set the Memory Target Speed at 6000Mhz. The laptop freezes and is unresponsive. I need to power off with a finger for about five, and it does some BIOS reset. (I guess?)
I go down to 5800mhz, which doesn't BSOD, but Windows shows memory errors using Windows Mem Test.
I tried 5600mhz the same. I tried 5200mhz. The same!!!! How!!!
The other unit went for RMA because I used 6000mhz speed and FLK 2133, which completely ******ed up the laptop.
Can you guys assist me with why this laptop is not allowing higher speeds without the Windows memory test showing errors? 4800mhz is super slow...
I'm using LAST BIOS.
Also... How do you guys 100% clear the BIOS in this laptop? Is it to remove the battery and press the power button for a few minutes, or how?
Yes, try to remove ALL the ram and will auto-boot to BIOS...
DDR5-5200 max. 5600 Fury Impact KF556S40IBK2-32 (16+16) did work fine at 5200 when I tested them on my ex Scar 17 4080. See also the other thread: Issues with new laptop Strix Scar 17 2023 (R9 7945... - Republic of Gamers Forum - 921478 (asus.com)
