The audio jack on the Strix is a combo audio jack, so it's simultaneously a mic and headphone jack. This jack is similar to what smartphones had for many years--a jack where you could plug in headphones that had built-in microphones and both would work at the same time.
The downside of this combo jack is if you have separate headphones and microphone you'll need an adapter. Luckily, an adapter to go from a combo jack to separate headphone and microphone jacks is relatively cheap and you can find it easily on sites like Amazon.
