Hi, I have an Asus ROG Strix G614JU-N3142W. I would like to insert a Samsung 990 Pro 2TB NVMe SSD. The question is, is it better with or without a heatsink?

ASUS laptops are very cramped and the heatsink can't be more than 1.5 mm high (!).

Whit hearsink is better for sure lower temps better work + long life on theory

yes, for a desktop PC, is there enough space for this type of laptop? both to be able to insert it and to ventilate the dissipated heat.

If the NVMe have original heatsink is not necessary to buy but in reality i think really doesn't metter i have 2 NVMe drives and i didn't have any aftermarket heatsinks

I did not explain myself. for this notebook model, can I connect SSD with the heatsink or is it better without the heatsink?

Hi, in the end I bought the Samsung 990 Pro 2Tb without a heatsink, even though it would have come with the heatsink.
Once installed, do I need to make any changes to the bios or some different formatting? Is there any test I can do on the new SSD? the first startup didn't go so well, I was in the bios and the notebook had crashed.

On my laptop, I have the VMD controller disabled in the BIOS and everything works very well.
My second SSD is a Kingston's, but the manufacturer shouldn't make any difference here.
