Hi, my Asus ROG Strix G18 4080 has been updated to 317 bios not so long ago.
It came to my attention that the sRGB range suddenly became limited and all dark gradation spots became all pixelated. Windows wallpaper, videos, games all poses the same effect.
This happens only on dGPU mode/Ultimate mode, and iGPU/Optimus does not have this issue.
My suspision is that either the bios 317 or some sort of bug happened in Factory setting of Color Profile.

Nvidia control panel does not have a option to change dynamic range from limited to full.
I have tried DDU clean install the nvidia drivers, studio and game ready, but had no change.
Are there anyone experiencing the same problem and is there any fix to this?
Should i clean install the windows and downgrade the bios?
What is causing this issue?

I have literally the same issue! I have been blaming my tv...

I have the same issue. For me, it seems, that the problem is caused by 'Reverso Context' application. It crashes, when I turn on HDR in dGPU mode or freezes the laptop when connecting to TV. Sometimes it helps to just wait a few minutes. When the app is not running, everything is OK.
May be you have something running in background, that causes the same problem too.

Can you post something where the gradient is still a problem?
I have to be honest that for the content I’m using, the problem seems gone, but willing to compare to other users

While gaming and watching video. Youtube or local videos. If you are using Dark mode on Windows, open "Settings" windows Full screen mode. Close and open again. You can see the problem in the window. This problem with gamma setting. Dark scenes or places shows the problem.

I have a few pictures for example, and i know how they looked on my laptop 3 monthes ago. Some of this pictures were on my wallpapper, and i am sure there was no such gradients on that pictures. Also in battle.net application, and in all games especially when you see fog in dark places or bluring... So the problem is not solved yet... Unfortunately....

Ive added a few pictures of my setting window in dark mode full screen, the Battle net app and Dolby vision demo…The pictures of course blows up gradients, but except for the top center of the Dolby window I cant really see exceptionally bad gradients anywhere (and I think its supposed to be that bad on the Dolby test to show soothing is speaking).

You know what? I think you are right and i was wrong. After updating bios to 318 the picture is way better. And the main thing, i checked all my pictures on 2 another non-Asus laptops with IPS and Amoled screens, on intel and nvidia graphics, and guess what)) Color banding is the same there)) So i think now problem is solved on the Asus side. I suspect there was some changes in Windows 11 and its sRGB color profile. I noticed that colors now is more vibrant, than it was a few months ago... Maby it is the reason the gradients are more visible now. But i like this colors. Problem is solved for me. Interesting, what other people think about this?

ASUSSystemControlInterfacev3_ASUS_Z_V3.1.18.0_15312 is ready. I installed it. I didn't notice any difference. Problem still exits. I also installed bios 318 btw.

Can you post a picture of how bad the problem still is at your end? Is the picture I posted above of my Windows setting screen in dark mode like you thought it would be?
What is your laptop model? Mine is the 18" ROG Strix Scar G834JY ,if other model you might have a different problem and Asus can assist further if they know it still persists on some models.
