I have a ROG STRIX G713QR.
Since version 6, my laptop has had fan problems. It's in ECO and SILENT mode, yet the fan regularly kicks in at 100% even though the CPU is at 35°C. It's completely cold!
On top of that, profile management has disappeared, and I have to do everything manually. It was much more convenient before, at least for my use case. How do I go back to the latest version, 5.9.x.x?
Thank you very much 🙂
Edit :
I have found the old version 5.9.9.0 here : https://www.asus.com/supportonly/armoury%20crate/helpdesk_download/
But nothing, no work 😞
I uninstalled the only Windows update from the same date, and it didn't improve. I reflashed the BIOS and reset it: the same thing.
Silent mode has become extremely noisy!
Sometimes the fan stops for a few minutes then starts up again at full speed, it is almost always running at ~6000 rpm
I'm out of ideas...

You need to customize fans, otherwise it will use the same fan profiles as armoury crate
Also if it does not work, try G-Helper Experimental

I see that your cpu fan is maxed out, and gpu is disabled. Probably you have some issue with gpu fan or some software or bios update broked it. Have you tried disabling asus services in extra settings in G-Helper. If it does not help, try reverting to older bios

Hello and thank you for your help.
I reflashed the BIOS and reset everything, uninstalled with the tool then reinstalled armory crate, then migrated to G-Helper, disabled Asus services, still the same.
The GPU fan works normally. The MyAsus fan test everything is perfect.
In the BIOS the problem persists, as well as once booted under Linux, so I am starting to think that this is a hardware problem or corrupted firmware somewhere... 😱

Hi.
Have you tried G-Helper Experimental? It controls fans the same way as the MyAsus test. Just need to install the older version of Asus System Control Interface or it will not work. And make sure that it will not self update to newer version.
Latest Asus System Control Interface v 3.0.1.41+ blocks access to driver required for the "manual" fan control. So if it doesn't work for you - you can (temporarily) uninstall new one and install previous version 3.0.1.40 (or below).
Then in G-Helper disable all asus services and in fan control panel click Calibrate.

I have a Rog Strix G15 and Had the same problem. This post really help me to see where to look. I just switch from enable to dissable in the bios the "Armoury crate support". I have the lastest version of armoury crate.
Now, silent mode is really silent and the fans speed up when i do multitasking or gaming.
I hope my experience help you.
PS: sorry for my english.
