Hi everyone!
In 2022 I bought two ASUS ROG Strix G15 laptops, one for me and one for my girlfriend. Last year, her screen started going black when opening the lid, but if you kept it at a very specific angle, it would turn back on. Someone eventually opened it up and confirmed it was the flex cable. After that fixing that, we became extra careful with both laptops.
Now, one year later… my laptop is having the exact same issue. Which is super frustrating because I’ve always been extremely gentle with it.
So my question is:
Is this a known/common issue with ASUS ROG Strix laptops? Or were we just two unlucky girls? lol
I was planning to get another ROG Strix with better specs (bim arch here), but if the flex cable tends to fail every few years, I’m definitely reconsidering.
Any experiences or advice? Has this happened to you?
BTW, I’m also looking at the ASUS TUF F16 as an alternative, any thoughts on that model?
Thanks!
