SCAR GL703GS CPU core clock droppng constantly

For some reason my SCAR GL703GS whilst on battery keeps underclocking to 803MHz and then back up again. It does this constantly on repeat which lags the laptop and whilst playing a video it constantly freezes and delays it. Why is it doing this? I've tried different power modes such as balanced and power saver.

Asus notebook are programmed to underclock the CPU and GPU anytime their not plugged in to conserve battery power this is quite normal.

Is it meant to be so inconsistent though going up and down constantly every few seconds?

No, you may have a hardware issue
